Johannesburg International HVAC & Refrigeration Exhibition, South Africa
Introduction
The largest and most influential professional exhibition of HVAC and refrigeration in Africa
Details

Exhibition time: June 2021

Introduction to the exhibition
The largest and most influential professional exhibition of HVAC and refrigeration in Africa

The South African HVAC and Refrigeration Exhibition FRIGAIR is organized by Montgomery International Exhibition Company of South Africa, with the full assistance of the South African Refrigeration Association. It is held in Johannesburg, the largest city in South Africa. It is the largest and most influential HVAC professional exhibition in Africa with the largest number of participating enterprises. It has a strong radiation effect on South Africa and the whole of Africa.  Due to the important role of South Africa Refrigeration Exhibition, it has changed from biennial to triennial since 2012, in response to the requirements of well-known enterprises in the industry, market development and exhibition orientation.  In 2015, the exhibition had a total of more than 3,000 square meters of exhibition space, with more than 140 professional exhibitors taking part, attracting 4,470 people (including more than 100 international audiences from 28 countries and regions).  South Africa HVAC & Refrigeration Exhibition 2021 will be held ceremoniously in June.  In recent years, the bilateral trade between China and South Africa has developed rapidly, and the proportion of China-Africa trade has continued to increase. In 2009, China became South Africa's major trading partner, major import source and major export destination.  The exhibition has become a bridgehead for China's leading enterprises to enter Africa. Through this commercial platform, it is an excellent opportunity to promote their own brands, expand their commercial networks and seize the commercial market.

Market analysis
South Africa is the most economically developed country in Africa, and is also China's largest trading partner in Africa (China-Africa bilateral trade currently exceeds 100 billion US dollars).  The construction market generates a huge business opportunity of up to 9 billion US dollars every year. The South African government is committed to building the construction industry as a pillar industry of the national economy and wants to increase its share of the gross national product to 25%.  Holding an exhibition of hardware and building materials in South Africa is a great event in the African industry and creates a good opportunity for Chinese mainland and international enterprises.

According to statistics of South Africa's National Tax Bureau, from January to June 2017, South Africa's import and export volume of goods was 83.67 billion US dollars, up 16.7% from the same period last year.  Of this total, exports reached 43.01 billion US dollars, up 18.3%.  Imports reached 40.66 billion US dollars, up 15%.  The trade surplus was US$ 2.35 billion, up 138.6%.  In addition, the import and export volume of goods between South Africa and China from January to June was US$ 110.4, up 17.7%.  Among them, South Africa's exports to China amounted to US$ 3.76 billion, up 21.1%, accounting for 8.7% of South Africa's total exports, up 0.2 percentage points.  Imports from China reached 7.28 billion US dollars, up 16.1%, accounting for 17.9% of South Africa's total imports.  South Africa's trade deficit was US$ 3.52 billion, up 11.1%.  The South African government is committed to building the construction industry into a pillar industry of the national economy and wants to increase its share of GDP to 25%.  The non-governmental organization plans to build 5 million new houses in the next five years, and the demand for building materials related industries is strong, especially the demand for air conditioning, heating, ventilation and refrigeration equipment technology.  However, South Africa's such products are completely imported to meet the needs.  Around South Africa's huge construction market, a huge business opportunity of 67 billion rand (about 4.5 billion US dollars) per year has been formed.  This provides a good opportunity for enterprises in the building materials industry to invest and trade.
